It is aimed at students aged 16 to 21 of Swiss or Foreign Nationality having acquired a solid base in Ballet and Contemporary dance and are planning to become professional dancers.
The course objective is to maximise the development of young dancers’ technical and artistic capabilities by offering them the necessary intensive training. As such, they are confronted with a typical professional dancer’s work schedule. The many disiplines taught allow them to complete what they have already acquired.
By assimilating the essential tools of the professional dance world, the students become complete performers, developing artistic identity and critical sense, allowing them to envisage a difficult and demanding career.
There are daily Ballet and Contemporary dance classes. Added to these are classes in composition, improvisation, voice work and learning choreographic pieces by artists from diverse horizons.
Stage craft is tackled during the end of year performances. Extra courses are organized throughout the season, regularly collaborating with working professionals.
At the end of the 2006-2007 season one student from this course joined the Ballet Junior; two others are to continue their studies at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie and at the London Contemporary Dance School and one young dancer obtained her first professional contract.
