Bollywood dance has been spreading throughout the world recently by the ever increasing screenings of Indian Films outside of India. It often mixes styles and is typically joyous and coloured with foot-tapping rythms whilst taking its source in traditional Indian dance.

The Bollywood class here is composed of warm-up, steps, routines and choreography based pricipally - but not exclusively- on the two predominant types of Indian classical dance: Kathak and Bharatanatyam. Individual work is structured around two prinicipals: rythm and expression, noteably the work around the hands and eyes. Groupe work plays with symmetry that different groups create as they move in the space as well as the numreous changes of direction.
