Laura Tanner received a degree in dance from the London School of Contemporary Dance and continued her training at the Merce Cunningham Foundation in New York, as well as with Noemi Lapzeson.She has taught at the Ecole de Danse de Genève, under the direction of Beatriz Consuelo from 1984, and choreographed "La Chevelure de Bérénice" for the Ballet Junior in 1989.
As a choreographer, Laura has created many pieces since 1984 including "Sad-Eyed Lady" for the Rassemblement Culturel Romand, "Au Milieu de Nulle Part" at the salle Patino, "Tiempo" for the Bâtie, Festival de Genève, "Entre l'Abîme et l'infini" for the Jeux Républicains... For her two versions of "Pierre de Pluie" Laura received the Prix Romand des Spectacles Indépendants in 1995 and the Prix d'Auteur of the rencontres Chorégraphiques de Seine-Saint-Denis in 1996. She has recently worked on a new piece called "Entre Chiens et Louves" which was performed in February 2003 in Geneva. Laura Tanner is responsable for contemporary dance training at the school.
