choreography Ken Ossola Zero Degrees (point two) 0º.2, is a stylistic exercise that takes its source from a choreographic phrase elaborated in the first Zero Degrees. From this initial material, various fragmented sequences emerged. A length of red tape which is stretched across the floor by a dancer represents the boundaries of a microcosm this dancer imposes on him or herself. He then transgresses this limit. The piece is built as two solos that interact mainly by coming in and out of phase with each other. Thus a strange and slightly tense connection is formed between the dancers, so that when they finally come into physical contact a story seems to be told. |
