Lucinda Childs, a leading figure of neo-classical minimalism, saw a performance of the Ballet Junior last season. She was impressed with the quality of the work that was being presented by these young dancers. She then immediately accepted our offer be able to add one of her pieces to our repertoire. She proposed using as source material a solo she had created for herself and which Mikhail Baryshnikov later toured internationally.

Lucinda Childs will use the choreographic material from this solo to transpose it into a piece for six dancers, exploring space , time, repetition, extrapolation and reversal.
